After completing a plethora of research, I made recommendations to the senior leadership team on the top skills that are needed in the future of work. Together, we narrowed the focus to the top skills for our team structure. Then, I compiled a team of experts within our team that would help me to build out each module.
Based on research, we learned that adults need different modalities for learning, as well as short, bite-sized education to help guide them on their new path. The talent development platform was digital, but consisted of different materials such as video, audio, and PDF's to help our employees learn quickly and retain that information.
Some of the important features we included in the platform were things like: completion tracking, ratings, and check lists for each module. The completion tracking served 2 purposes, one for the learner to see how far they have come, but also for us as the training facilitators to ensure that people were progressing through and not getting stuck in certain areas. The ratings helped the learners to share with us content that resonated and content that may need to be switched out for something different. The checklists were helpful for the learner to feel a sense of completion as well as come back later and know where they left off in their training.
